The Early Years

Cammy was born in March 2002 on the Gold Coast.

He was GC born and bred.

Cameron attended Worongary State Primary School and went on to Merrimac State High School, where he graduated in 2019.

Cam had a close group of best mates, one since Kindergarten and a tight group that spent all of their school years together, from Worongary Primary all the way through to graduation at Merrimac High School.

We always felt blessed knowing that Cam had such a good bunch of guys and girls around him.

Cameron had worked nights at Officeworks for a few years while still at High School, and after graduating year 12 Cam took up the opportunity to start an apprenticeship as a hardwood flooring installer. Cam was in his third year of his apprenticeship. He had just completed a big three day job, his first by himself, and was out with his mates that night to celebrate.

The next morning at around 3am we received the phone call that is every parents worst nightmare. Cameron had been assaulted, and was in the Intensive Care Unit of the Gold Coast University Hospital for 7 days. We were by his bedside around the clock, family and friends, 24/7 from 22nd September until we were advised that there was no chance of any recovery.

Cameron's life support was switched off and Cam passed away at 1:06pm on Saturday 28th September.
