Stop The Coward Punch

On Saturday 21st September 2024, Cameron came home from work, happy that he had completed a big job as a 3rd year apprentice in the hardwood floor laying industry. He helped his Dad work on the van they had recently purchased and were converting into a campervan. He then went and had a shower and went out with his mates.

At approximately 3am on Sunday the 22nd September, his parents were woken by a phone call from the police informing them that Cameron had been involved in an incident, he had fallen, hit his head on the ground and was being transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) in an induced coma.

Cameron spent the next 7 days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) receiving the best possible care and treatment. Over those 7 days Cameron had around 50 people come to visit him, to see him, to spend time with him. Family and friends waited patiently downstairs, many sleeping on couches overnight, for any chance to be able to visit Cam. Towards the end the room in the ICU was packed with dozens of people at a time, some sitting silently, some sobbing quietly, some crying openly.

Sadly the team of doctors and specialists informed the family there was no longer any hope of recovery and they had to let Cam go. Cameron passed away on the 28th September 2024 with his family by his side. Forever 22.

Cameron was the victim of an "alleged" Coward Strike (an unprovoked unlawful strike to the head or neck of a victim, often knocking them unconscious and creating a significant risk of death if they hit their head on the ground).

It is alleged that Cameron was kicked to the head, from behind, without his knowledge, without warning, and without a valid reason. The case is currently before the courts, and all allegations are yet to be heard by the courts.

Cameron's family want to keep his memory alive through these pages, and to use his story as a sad but necessary warning about the dangers and life changing consequences to all parties involved in this type of cowardly and unnecessary action.

They have created an Incorporated Association to raise ongoing awareness and education. The Cameron Duce Forever 22 Memorial Association Incorporated is now established).
